Welcome bags for new residents
In collaboration with Stitch‘O’Mat, and with funding support from The Home Foundation, New Brighton Project is excited to introduce our Welcome Bags for New Residents initiative.
This project is all about extending a warm welcome to those new to our hapori by gifting them a bag filled with local knowledge, resources, and a few treats to help them settle in and feel at home.

We have invited our local schools to participate in this project, by asking their tamariki to add a personal welcome message on a card to put in each bag.

Life is Better By the Sea
By offering these welcome bags, we hope to spark a sense of whanaungatanga, connection and belonging, from day one.
It’s a small gesture with big heart, and a way to encourage connection, participation, and pride in our unique seaside community.
